Free Tax Help in New Hanover County, NC

It's tax time again!  To help New Hanover County residents get their taxes filed by the April 15th deadline, the county and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program are teaming up to provide free tax help at three locations in New Hanover County: the Main Library downtown, the Senior Resource Center on S. College Rd. and at the Town of Carolina Beach Recreation Center.

All accept walk-ins only (no appointments) and have hours specific to each location between Feb. 1 and April 17, 2012:
  • Main Library: Monday thru Friday: 9:30 am to 1:30 pm
  • Senior Resource Center: Monday-Wednesday-Friday: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm AND Tuesday & Thursday : 11:30 am to 7:00 pm
  • Carolina Beach Rec Center: Tuesday & Thursday: 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm AND Wednesday: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
For a complete list of what to bring with you and for details about what VITA can and cannot help you with, please see VITA for NHC 2012.

I also want to take this opportunity to recommend our own accountant for anyone looking for great accounting services in Wilmington.  We started working with Preferred Accounting when we started our business and we couldn't be happier with our choice. Wendy Duke came recommended from a friend and colleague and she's been a lifesaver for us.  Learn more about them at www.PreferredAccountingNC.com.
